This company is the UK's leading specialist Business, Analytical and IT consultancy, they employ over 1500 people. Their portfolio of clients covers diverse areas such as National Security and the Public Sector, through to commercial industries such as Telecommunications, Utilities and Pharmaceuticals. Their services include business consulting, software and hardware development, technical consultancy and complex data analytics work.
Based out of my client's Surrey headquarters you will be working within their Business Applications Unit. This division offers a support service across the clients internal applications. The current team is 8 strong and offers prospective candidates with the opportunity for unparalleled recognition, skills exposure and enhancements, and career development. This role will encompass both support and development elements (roughly 40-60 split).
The client has an immediate opportunity in Guildford for a candidate with the following skills:
-Transact SQL Server Development
-Microsoft Development Environment - Visual Basic, VBA and Excel, .Net
-Issue tracking and management
-Configuration management and source control tools and techniques.
The following skills would also be beneficial:
-K2.Net Workflow
-ITIL Foundation Level.
Key Responsibilities:
-Application management and support activities for complex and varying systems across
-Development skills to carry out significant enhancement work to existing applications.
Requirements:
-2.i (or equivalent) in a Computer Science or Software Engineering degree
-Strong interest in the development lifecycle, processes and fixing software bugs. Ideally this will be demonstrated by relevant work experience
-All round technical awareness, including hard- and software and platforms
-Ability to work effectively in a team
-Strong client-centric ethic and takes pride in customer satisfaction
-Tenacity in finding the underlying causes of problems or discrepancies to identify problems and develop sound solutions
-The ability to maintain performance when under stress, and manage time well.
