A surge in discount retailing as the recession bites is good news for graduates seeking marketing careers, according to high-street chain TK Maxx.
Parent company TJX Europe says it will create 750 UK vacancies this year as the group cashes in on the economic downturn.
Says spokesman Paul Sweetenham: "The European group has seen significant growth in the last two years. We are outperforming our expectations, even in today's challenging retail environment.
TK Maxx expects to open a further ten shops in the UK by the end of the year as part of its 32-store expansion across Europe.
Meanwhile, TJX Companies, the global parent company, is intent on turning HomeSense, which currently has eight sites in the UK and Ireland, into a 100 to 150-outlet store.
