Metallurgy and Materials Courses

Metallurgy is part of materials sciences which studies the behaviour of metallic elements, inter-metallic compounds and alloys. Material scientists and engineers study the physical and chemical properties of materials used to manufacture products, trying to attain high standards of performance and reliability.

Materials scientists could develop stronger alloys for a spacecraft or ones which can withstand hot temperatures, find the best material for a computer or a prosthetic arm.
