We are looking for an Administration and Office Assistant who will be prepared to help with a range of tasks. The role will be for a fixed term 13 month contract starting in September to cover maternity leave. We have a busy, yet relaxed and friendly working environment.
We are happy to consider full-time, part-time or job share applicants. We can offer up to 40 hours per week between 08.30am-7.00pm Mon-Thurs and 8.30am-5.00pm Friday. Please state your work hour preferences when applying.
A large part of the role will involve administration and data entry for a high volume of CVs and registrations.
Additional tasks may include:
- Proof reading job descriptions
- General office related tasks, e.g. watering plants, receiving and putting away deliveries, welcoming visitors, keeping the office looking presentable, post, errands etc.
- Registering jobs at university career services
- Sending and co-ordinating gift packages
- Telephoning candidates to update their details
- Updating spread sheets
- Replying to email enquiries
- Managing the recycling collections
- Other ad-hoc work as required
Candidates who have a background in HR could assist with HR administration, e.g. absence forms, new starter induction packs, co-ordinating first days for new starters, etc.
Desired skills, experience and qualities:
- Flexible and willing to help out with a range of different tasks
- Good IT skills; a large proportion of the work is computer based
- Strong attention to detail; accurate registering of job seeker details is essential as the role(s) will involve processing a high volume of registrations
- A knowledge of equal opportunities and recruiting is desirable but not essential
- Previous administration or secretarial experience would be beneficial
Salary:
£7.00-8.50 per hour, depending on experience.
