Our environmental professionals help us to meet the challenges of the future. They look at innovative ways to improve our environmental performance over a substantial portfolio including roads, buses, rivers, cycling and our property estate. We are delivering multi-billion pound investment in order to meet 21st century demands of a world class city.
Entry requirements...
You must have a 2:1 honours degree (or higher) in an environmental-related discipline. Applicants who hold a project management, business management or engineering-related degree with a substantial environmental component are also welcome.
We're looking for candidates who can also:

•Demonstrate high standards of written and verbal communication
•Show good analytical, problem solving and inductive reasoning (ability to deal with ambiguous data) skills
•Embrace change
•Collaborate with colleagues, share your information, knowledge and skills

•Work on your own initiative, seeking out new opportunities for learning, career progression and challenges
•Identify project goals and work towards them
•Demonstrate a structured and methodical approach to tasks, identifying priorities and setting deadlines

This scheme allows you to gain a broad knowledge of different types of projects and an understanding of what it takes to provide a transport system like ours.
During your placements, you'll work on a range of complex and high-profile developments, often at different stages of delivery or operation. These could be projects such as:
•Ultra Low Emissions Zone
•Arboriculture and landscape management on the Transport for London Road Network
•Low emission vehicles
•Environmental Impact Assessment of transport infrastructure projects
•Energy management of our assets
•Wider environmental management projects, including environmental training, environmental site audits and environmental management system maintenance
