My client provides the software solutions and services that manage the world?s largest spatial big data.
They work with users and creators of the largest geospatial databases on earth, helping them collect, manage, plan, maintain, publish and interpret location-specific information.
Their clients include National Mapping Agencies, Land Registries, utility and telecommunications companies, and government departments including emergency services, defence and census bureaus.
My client needs a motivated developer with a keen interest in maths to join their Development Group.
They need someone with good, solid Java basics and who is passionate about continuous improvement and code craftsmanship. The Java Developer they are looking for will be excited by solving geometric problems in software and just as keen to work in a highly collaborative, agile, Java team.
You will work with my client's object-orientated technology to deliver solutions that enable their customers to automate the modification, management and reuse of complex data. As part of their highly talented Development team you will deliver innovative solutions to develop my client's software offerings.
You will:
- Analyse, develop, and test in core Java technologies
- Engage with system analysts and product owners to develop elegant solution to meet stakeholder requirements
- Work alongside our test team to develop automated test suites
- Attend customer calls and site visits
- Contribute to team values: approachable, agile, innovative, and smart
Essential Skills:
- Bachelor?s Degree or above in Computer Science or equivalent proven experience.
- A curiosity for evaluating and advocating new technology
- A good ability to problem solve with a mathematical focus
- A good understanding of Java
- Genuine and proven interest in technology
- Excellent communicator, both verbal and written
- Knowledge of Git, Scrum, SQL, Maven, Nexus, Sonar, and Jenkins advantageous
