This company has a rare opening for a PhD Engineering graduate and is looking for someone with an exceptional background.
This elite Engineer will join their highly successful consultancy team in Glasgow working on a range of sectors with a bias towards the oil and gas industry. As a Technical Consultant your role can vary between hands on systems designing to software based analysis, programming and testing of programmes. You may well be focussing on the use of controls and automation in production, manufacturing and other applicable situations.
You will be more than a number, as although they have grown rapidly, they still believe in treating their employees as individuals and remain set on growing their own talent.
You can expect to be involved in a variety of activities including:
- Providing innovative technical input within a project team
- Project management and planning
- Commercial tasks, including client visits and budgeting for projects
Your average week will see you spending two to three days out on client sites. Within your first year, you'll have full project responsibility, typically beginning by working on projects worth £10-20k and progressing from here to million pound projects.

You must possess the following to be considered for this role:
- PhD in Electronic, Software, Controls, Automation or Systems Engineering
- A 2.1 or above in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electronic or Electrical Engineering, from a Top 40 UK university
- Minimum of ABB at A-level (ideally in Maths, Chemistry and Physics)
- Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written
- Eligibility for UK Security Clearance (You must hold a British passport and have lived in the UK for 10 years)
- Flexibility to travel to client sites
- Technical skills include knowledge of PLC's, control systems and good programming skills (Matlab Simulink as a slight preference)
