The National Aeronautics and Space Administration is the agency of the United States government that is responsible for the nation's civilian space program and for aeronautics and aerospace research
he NASA Pathways Recent Graduates Program (RGP) is for individuals who have recently graduated from qualifying educational institutions or programs. To be eligible, applicants must apply within 2 years of degree or certificate completion, except for Veterans precluded from doing so due to their military service obligation, who will have up to 6 years after degree or certificate completion. Successful applicants will be placed in a dynamic, 1-year career development program. Extension of an additional year may be granted. Agencies may non-competitively convert participants who successfully complete the program to term or permanent competitive service jobs. The NASA Pathways RGP provides the opportunity to those individuals who lack experience to participate in jobs in the Federal civil service at the beginning of their careers, and they are engaged at the onset of their work lives, before their career path is fully established.
To meet eligibility requirements for the NASA Pathways RGP, individuals must have completed, within the previous 2 years, a qualifying associates, bachelors, masters, professional, doctorate, vocational or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution. A veteran, who, due to military service obligations was unable to apply within 2 years of receiving their degree, has as much as 6 years after degree completion to apply. In addition to meeting these basic eligibility requirements to apply for the NASA Pathways RGP, individuals must:
Meet the qualification standards of the position.
Be a United States citizen.
Meet any Agency-specific requirements identified in the job announcement (e.g., security).
Recent graduates may be converted to a permanent position (or, in some limited circumstances, a term appointment lasting 1-4 years). To be eligible for conversion, recent graduates must have:
Successfully completed at least 1 year of continuous service in addition to all requirements of the Program.
Demonstrated successful job performance.
Met the qualifications for the position to which the Recent Graduate will be converted.
