Summary of the Trainee Role
Whether you've recently completed your A-levels or graduated from University, the junior Trainee role within Kroll's Financial Investigations Practice will appeal to individuals who are ambitious and eager to take the first step in building their career for a leading investigative consultancy firm.
The junior Trainee role will provide key support to the wider Financial Investigations team and will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of tasks to support Case Managers during an investigation; from collating and analysing data, to carrying out research using a variety of research methods to providing administrative support. The Trainee will gain a key insight into the case-work undertaken by Kroll whilst gaining valuable commercial experience in a unique and fast-moving industry.
Whilst an excellent academic record is essential, Kroll is open to applications from individuals who have recently completed their A-levels and looking for an alternative route to University, to recent Graduates who are looking for an entry-level position into a professional services firm. Equally as important, applicants must show a willingness to learn and have a flexible approach to work, with excellent communication skills and thrive on working in a team-orientated environment.

With the support of the team, the successful candidate will be expected to take responsibility for their learning, and develop the key competencies needed to build a successful and long-term career at Kroll. These key competencies include research and analytical skills, strong technical skills and ability to build and develop key internal and external relationships.
Key Tasks
The Trainee will be expected to carry out the following tasks as part of their role:
- Carry out secondary research by utilising databases, internet and public domain tools.
- Collating and organising large volumes of data.
- Document and e-mail review and analysis.
- Interrogation of financial and accounting data.
- Providing administrative support to Case Managers including scanning, photocopying and filing.
- Assist Case Managers in using Excel and PowerPoint to provide diagrammatic and pictorial explanations to present key findings and patterns identified in the investigation.
- Communicate regularly with colleagues to inform of progress of case work, highlighting key issues where necessary.
- Organise case files, maintain accurate research records and record all billable costs.
- Provides additional administrative support to the Financial Investigations team when requested.
Requirements:
Below lists the key skills, competencies and qualifications which applicants must meet to be considered for the Trainee role:
- GCSE Grade B or above in Maths and English.
- Minimum of 280 UCAS tariff points.
- 2:1 University degree or above in a Business / Finance related subject – desirable but not essential.
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Strong Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to read and write in a second European language – desirable but not essential.
