Highways England is a government owned company.
Responsible for maintaining and modernising England's motorways and major A roads, we keep England moving. And with advances in technology, like smart motorways, and £11 billion being invested in road improvements in the next five years, there's never been a better time to get on board.
The Programme:
Join our three-year graduate training programme and you'll acquire all the skills and knowledge you need to gain Chartered Engineer status. You'll get to take up on-the-job training placements complemented by professional training. Then at the end of the programme, we'll reward you with a guaranteed job at your pay band - and an interview for a chance at promotion.
The Role:
You'll plan and manage your training with the support of the Delegated Engineer and Supervising Civil Engineer. You'll ensure work is undertaken professionally to support business and development needs. You'll take placements throughout the organisation, coordinating technical and management activities that deliver for the business while supporting your personal development. You will also have the chance to undertake external secondments, acting as our ambassador at all times.
About You:
You hold a degree in civil engineering or equivalent, at a 2:2 Honours level or higher. Able to deliver at pace, you'll thrive in our dynamic environment. You pride yourself on your integrity, and you'll focus on quality, efficiency and providing value for money for customers. What's more, you're known for your team working and communication skills and you'll build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
