The Greenfrog group of companies is the UK's leading owner and operator of fast response power generation, providing services directly to National Grid. The group has in-house capabilities to build and connect the new generation to the grid and is investing heavily in new forms of clean, fast-responding power generation technology.
Greenfrog Connect is the construction arm of the group and an accredited Independent Connection Provider (ICP), which allows us to design and build HV electricity networks at voltages up 132,000 volts. We take each project from concept, through detailed civil, electrical and mechanical design, construction, commissioning and finally handover to one of our sister companies for operation and maintenance.

The successful candidate will report to the head of business development to convert pipeline opportunities in the Electricity connections, power distribution, and power generation industries into winning bids/order closure to meet the Business Strategy.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Estimating:
-Dealing with internal and external client enquiries
-Develop and co-ordinate winning solutions
-Consider price and commercial strategy to meet Customer requirements
-Pricing Estimates and producing Tender return packages for submission.
-Liaising with Project Managers and Design Team during the tender stage.
-Ownership of the estimate and proposal documentation
-Challenge and explore all avenues to meet Customer expectations
-Minimise business risk and costs
-Develop the technical, commercial and financial solution as the bid progresses.
-Work closely with Commercial Director and design team
-Ensure a thorough understanding of the solution and customer needs
-Sending enquiries to Suppliers and Subcontractors to obtain quotations
-Understand the opportunity, liaise with all relevant stakeholders
-Agree with the technical solution, ensure we can commit to the delivery timing
-Producing and managing Project Programme using MS Project. Basic knowledge of MS Project will be helpful.
-Assisting in drafting and issuing Subcontracts to Subcontractors.
-Assisting in carrying out the subcontractor payments assessments and payments.
-Liaising and providing support to Project Team
Requirements:
-Minimum of a 2:1 in an engineering or technology subject or relevant work experience and strong desire to work in power generation/distribution sector.
-Full UK driving licence.
Training and development:
-On the job training within business areas including design, project management and commercial management.
-Go on to Specialise in one of the 3 areas
-Formal training and industry specific qualifications to allow you to progress to charted engineer status.

The position will be based out of our Sheffield office. Should the successful candidate wish to move into a design or project management role in the future (should an opportunity exist at the time) then this would be based out of our Bristol office.
