Retailing is an ever-changing landscape. It's competitive, it's challenging and two days are never the same. My client has grown from a small family business into a national retail chain and they are still expanding.
The successful graduate will work within a web team to create fun, helpful and easy to read content for a leading toy retailer. Your main focus will be creating online product pages that wow customers and give them all the info they need to buy. You'll also lead a variety of projects to improve the non-product content on my client's website
Reporting to the Web Editor, you'll need to work independently, show great attention to detail and be obsessed with customer experience.
You'll be a great writer who's full of ideas and has a great understanding of the internet. You won't be happy with second best and you won't rest until you've created the best toy content on the internet.
Responsibilities
- Create accurate, interesting and informative copy for products.
- Enter product data to create product pages using the Blue Martini content management system.
- Create keywords and meta descriptions that improve our external search rankings and make the internal search engine work better.
- Edit images using Adobe Photoshop.
- Assist in general website housekeeping including price changes, product deletions and category changes.
- Assist other members of the online team as required.
- Take part in projects to improve the other content on the website (i.e. rewrite the help content).
- Manage the reviews and questions on our website, and use them to improve content.
- Help establish and maintain a fun, friendly house style that fits in with the brand.
Requirements:
- A fantastic writer with a passion for exciting, informative copy and an understanding of what works well on the web.
- Computer literate with working knowledge of Excel and Word. Experience of HTML, content management systems, Dreamweaver, Photoshop and SEO is even better.
- Customer focussed - aware of what customers need and dedicated to making sure they get it.
- Willing to learn new techniques.
