We are looking for individuals who are keen to develop a full understanding of the treasury function to join as a trainee.
This role is part of the 2017 grad programme and will see you working in the Treasury department - an independent function that covers Funds Transfer Pricing, FX, Hedging and Liquidity Management.
Through training you will develop an understanding of business activities and current regulatory regimes, taking part in the daily market-facing funding activities.
Tasks will include:
- Management and execution of the Treasury department's funding and hedging activities, including repos, interbank deposits, FX swaps IRS and MTN funding.
- Management and execution of the Treasury department assets.
- Monitoring of daily metrics and taking pro-active action to ensure compliance.
- Devising strategies for efficient management of the firm's liquidity.
- Providing reports and analytics to the Treasurer to assist with the optimal management of Treasury and for reporting to other business areas.
The role will also offer the chance to study toward relevant professional qualifications.
We are looking for candidates who are able to demonstrate a strong interest in Financial Markets and Treasury activity and are keen to learn. In addition candidates should demonstrate:
- A strong academic background.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Prior experience of report writing and financial modelling.
- Strong Excel skills - Look-ups, pivots etc.
- The ability to implement new ideas and processes.
- The ability to build strong working relationships with multiple departments.
- Desire to further their understanding of financial regulation.
Previous internship or placement experience within an investment bank and understanding of debt and derivative instruments would also be beneficial but is not essential.
