My client is an Executive Search and Selection company based 30 minutes from Leeds Train Station. Established 10 years ago and working throughout the UK and Europe, they work on a range of positions all at senior, board and directory levels. They have a strong international presence with positions located across all continents. They build and maintain exceptionally strong relationships with their clients which has led to over 70% of their business being ?repeat business.?
THE INDUSTRY:
With over 21,000 registered agencies, recruitment consultancy is the 2nd fastest growing industry in the UK worth approximately £29 billion. It is an extremely lucrative industry where many UK based agencies are expanding internationally. It is predominantly an office based role where sales, negotiation, client and customer liaison take up most of your day. 90% of your time will be spent on the phone, the rest of the time being out of the office on client visits. You will have the opportunity to work with market leaders, earn a phenomenal amount of money and work internationally.
THE ROLE:
- Research and map your specific market industry.
- Identify key clients and networking within your sector; find out who is who and where.
- Contacting potential clients, selling your company's services to them in order to obtain business.
- Contacting candidates and pitching roles to them in line with their skills, experience and interests.
- Keep abreast of any activity within your industry and develop your knowledge accordingly i.e. how the economic downturn may affect your clients working in the oil and gas industry
They work on roles exceeding £50k ? ranging from Directors of Office within Central Government paying £100k and Sales and Marketing Directors within the FMCG industry paying £150k to Head of European Business Development with a salary of £150k and the Chief Executive Officer within the Defence industry paying in excess of £200k.
A Trainee Recruitment Consultant will enter on a basic salary between £17-19k. With an excellent commission scheme, you take home 25% of everything you bill. With the average fee being very high due to the seniority of the positions, your commission will not only be enormous, but will be uncapped. The top Consultants within this company in 3-5 years are earning £100k or more on a basic salary of £40k.
My client is looking to expand their consultancy division and bring on board a number of Graduate Trainee Recruitment Consultants. Being a multi-disciplinary consultancy with sectors including Aerospace, Defence and Security, HR, Sales, Retail, Oil and Gas, Supply Chain, Marketing, Engineering, Leisure and Tourism and Telecommunications, they are open to various backgrounds. For example, an engineering background will be considered. They are however looking for credible, hardworking, money-motivated individuals with a genuine interest in building a career within senior level recruitment consultancy. The cultural fit is important; they are more of a mature consultancy and so are looking for candidates who want the same.
