Job Title: Graduate Trainee Headhunting Researcher

European executive search company specialising on senior and critical appointments ranging between £100k and £500k, and are successful in doing so in both the private and public sectors. They do this by utilising advanced research techniques in order to qualify a finite shortlist of reputable individuals ? a process which can take weeks. They are a fully retained search firm, meaning that they work as the exclusive supplier on each mandate and that their clients actually invest time and money with them at the initiation of a new vacancy.

The company is looking for 5-8 graduates to start in their office in Covent Garden.

A Researcher works closely with the Partners as a Trainee Headhunter. Working within a customer centric, project driven environment, this role is fundamentally key to the delivery of all assignments. A Researcher is a motivated and confident self-starter who is keen to learn and be trained into a successful all-round Consultant or a career Researcher.

On a day to day basis the functions of a Researcher include:

- Supporting fee earners in all aspects of their role both within sales and delivery
- Identifying target companies to be considered for a long list
- Understanding the competitive landscape in which clients operate; i.e. who are their key competitors, what has been the relevant deal flow activity in their market space, what is their market perception and history
- Constructing candidate briefing packs
- Constructing a job profile and competency matrix against which candidates are assessed
- Compiling mapping documents
- Identifying appropriate candidates and making approach calls
- Recording all information accurately on the company database
- Networking with industry sources
- Generating assignment research reports
- Generating industry reports
- Communicating and co-ordinating the clients and candidates throughout the assignment to incredibly high standards.

Over time Researchers become an expert in the field in which the assignments are being conducted and specialise into one of five key practise areas.

Candidates must be from a leading university with at least a 2.1 in a 'traditional' subject. Ideally you will have 'A's and 'B's at A-level and some office-based work experience. Alongside this you will need to demonstrate the following competencies:
