Our client is the London based securities and investment banking arm of one of the world's largest banking groups.
Our client focuses on being an enterprising, leading-edge and open organisation enabling individuals to demonstrate their capabilities and grow their careers within the company.
This is a developer and support role to ensure delivery, implementation and support of a client facing trading platform which has both dealer to dealer and dealer to client connectivity. Financial products traded will be European government bonds and other high grade debt and interest rate swaps. The scope of traded products will expand in the latter stages of implementation.
Main responsibilities will include:
- Systems configurations and development - to implement approved functional requirements
- System testing - to define testing strategy and test plans, and execute test plans
- Maintenance of development and UAT environments - be responsible for the working state of development and user-testing environments, ensuring they are fit for use.
This is an entry level position, working alongside and learning from highly experienced project team members. Both on the job and formal training will be offered.
In order to apply candidates must:
- Have previous experience of development (preferably in C, Java or .NET)
- Have intermediate knowledge of SQL (preferably Transact SQL)
- Have excellent problem solving skills and an ability to stay calm and focussed
- Be a team player
- Have excellent communication skills both written and oral
- Be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
As well as the above it would also be desirable for applicants to have a general understanding of financial markets and products in particular fixed income and rates, and have previous experience within a live market trading investment bank.
