Job Title: Graduate Trading Risk Analyst

Our client is a leading global physical commodities trader. Continued rapid growth plans mean these are exciting times for the company.

An opportunity has arisen to join the organisation in their trading risk department. The successful incumbent will report directly to the Risk Director and will be responsible for monitoring and controlling risks across a variety of functions including trading, treasury and structured finance. You will raise the profile of risk management across the organisation, enhancing the process of embedding a risk management culture.

Responsibilities will include:

- Assist in the identification, management and resolution of all trading risk issues arising from the day to day functions across the business
- Compare actual exposure against agreed limits
- Follow up on limit breaches
- Work closely with the business to complete risk control assessments

The role will also include projects to improve the risk measurement structure for existing limits:

- Define; plan and project manage the execution of the risk management initiatives and solutions
- Develop the required reporting tools
- Perform risk reviews of key business processes where required, working closely with the internal audit function

Lastly you will identify risks that have not been identified by the current systems, recommend solutions and develop the required reporting tools.

In order to apply candidates should have prior experience in trading risk, through either a year in industry or post graduate experience they should also:

- Be a pro-active, self-motivated individual coupled with strong organisational skills and good attention to detail
- Have strong communication skills and an excellent grasp of English
- Proven relationship building skills
- Knowledge of market risk concepts - products, markets, risk management techniques.
