Based in Milton Keynes my client works with internet service providers and mobile and fixed telecom companies to provide them with a service platform and standards-based tools that allows them to exploit Next Generation Network technologies across the mobile, fixed and broadband worlds.
Job Purpose:
To provide Support to the client's customer base; Participating in the triage of support issues, providing guidance and remote system support to the client's installations.
Responsibilities:
-Ensure compliance with support department procedures and escalation paths.
-Participate in the triage of support cases in conjunction the Technical Support Manager and Senior Engineers.
-Provide knowledgeable and accurate guidance to the customer base on the client's products.
-Ensuring that the root cause of system failures is fully investigated and documented.
-Ownership of assigned tasks and processes
-Manage customer expectations by regular communication of outstanding issues and situation status. Analyzing impact, devising workarounds and communicating next step plans.
-Adherence to all published procedures, policies and practices to ensure the timely submission of business and financial reporting.
-Represent the client with a professional demeanor at all times to customers and suppliers.
-Develop, maintain and apply personal knowledge and skills within the product and technology markets.
-Ensure support cases are dealt with and managed to a timely fashion.
Qualifications and Experience:
-Educated to degree level in a relevant subject.
-Strong IT and engineering skills; experience within the Datacoms or Telecoms sector would be an advantage.
-Knowledge and understanding of Voice switching, Data networks, Voice over IP (VOIP), TDM signaling (ISDN and SS7).
-Excellent communication skills (written and spoken).
-Ability to work under pressure and to multi-task.
-Demonstrate problem solving skills and show resilience and tenacity.
-Team player with collaboration skills.
-Customer service experience.
