Our client is a global software house. They produce software for the asset management industry. They have over 1000 staff worldwide and their clients include many well known corporations and investment banks.
The organisation is looking for a Technical Support Engineer to join the Technical Support team. You will be expected to provide technical application support for a range of different applications used by their client base.
The role will offer fantastic exposure for those looking to start a technical career; you will work alongside senior team members allowing you to gain essential knowledge for you to take responsibility of key projects.
Tasks will include:
- Responding to technical product incidents raised by external clients
- Providing resolution to the incident based on product knowledge
- Investigating new or existing issues through replication, allowing long term solutions to be identified
- Liaising with the client base to keep them updated throughout the incident lifecycle
In time, once appropriate knowledge has been gained you will be able to take ownership of more complex projects.
We are looking for candidates with a range of the following:
- Graduate with a 2:1 or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills - both written and oral, with English to mother tongue level
- A passion for problem solving
- An inquisitive mind-set
- A strong team player
- Knowledge of SQL (preferably T-SQL) stored procedures, functions and synonyms
- Experience with Windows Server 2008 and above, Active Directory and PowerShell Scripting would also be advantageous
