This company are a leading multifunctional business operating in the UK's Nuclear industry. They deliver decommissioning and waste management solutions to many nuclear licensed sites including AWE, LLWR Ltd, Magnox and Sellafield Ltd. They have three main arms to their business which are; Consultancy Services, Science and Technology research and Site Operations. The company are made up of a diverse group of experienced industry experts and post graduate/graduate engineers and scientists ensure that innovation and enthusiasm are tempered with a pragmatic overview.
As a member of the Consultancy Services Division your role will be to support consultancy level services to clients on a wide range of projects within radioactive waste management, decommissioning and environmental restoration.
More specifically you will be personally trained to work with the Senior Consultant on high level projects and your day to day work will include a vast range of activities including:
-Supporting preparation of projects including letters of compliance, technical reports and preparing studies
-Developing decommissioning strategies
-Writing technical reports being a co-author
-Planning the Line Manager's work schedule
-Managing contract staff
-Providing technical input for the business development teams
-Liaising with clients on technical specifics and general queries.
Overall it is a fast paced role which will suit somebody keen to continue their academic learning and be involved with technical regulation and compliance. You will be fundamental to all the projects you work on and will be a valued member of the team from day one.
We need motivated, intuitive individuals keen to gain lots of experience and responsibility from day one. You must have a degree in a relevant Scientific discipline at a 2:1 grade or higher, and strong A-levels (300 UCAS points).
Excellent communication skills are required and you will need to be a good team player who is very well organised, reliable and proactive. You would also need to have demonstrable experience of organising and planning the details of projects through University (both socially and academically), and a cited interest in the Nuclear and Environmental industry.
