My client is a global name with operations in over 130 countries. They engage in all aspects of the petroleum industry including the production of base chemicals (petrochemicals and fertilizers) and specialty chemicals for the industrial and consumer markets (rubber processing, adhesives, resins and electroplating).
This is the perfect position for a candidate who is highly self-motivated and energised by the thought of mixing with clients and up-selling for new business. My client can offer a 'hands off' position which will still utilise your technical knowledge.
Technical Business Managers are each responsible for an agreed geographical area. My client is recruiting for the Nottingham and Derby area, therefore it is essential you are based here as this is where all your clients will be. A large part of this role is focusing on generating new business through your own research and networking. To start you off, you will be given some clients to work with and you can then build up your accounts from there.
The industrial lubricants market is a highly competitive one, subject to constant change, therefore the right candidate will be an effective communicator to both internal and external 'markets' ensuring they keep abreast of competitor activity, strategy and technical changes around products.
Key focus areas are Energy, Aviation, Food, Quarrying, Cement, Ports, Wood and Paper. As well as gaining new clients and maximising company profits, you will maintain existing accounts by nurturing the clients you are already working with.
Essential skills include:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self motivation as you will be working independently
- A degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or related
- Interest and understanding in lubricants, oils and chemicals
- Driving licence
- To be based in Nottingham or Derby
