This is a varied role and includes the deployment of single software components to the more typical 6-12+ month project, requiring the integration of complex server-based applications developed with external third party suppliers.
Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
As a Systems Integration and Test Engineer supporting the delivery project teams, you will:
- Perform integration, end to end functionality and performance testing in an environment representative of the target customer's site.
- Define and document installation processes and guidelines.
- Replicate any post deployment issues to assist developers in providing solutions.
- To be an active member of delivery project teams to ensure that the customer's requirements are met both from a functional and operational perspective.
- Input to systems requirements to gain functional improvements for test, delivery, operations and support.
- Comply with company methodology for testing to ensure that all appropriate steps are executed to the agreed project time-scales.
- Maintain a full and up to date knowledge of products and solutions.
- Keep up to date with new technology and products as they come on-line.
- Overseas travel may be required on an occasional basis.
Essential skills for the role include:
- To have obtained a minimum of a 2:1 in Computer Science, Computing, IT, Electronic Engineering or related.
- Strong A-levels with A's and B's.
- Demonstrable interest in technology.
- Exposure of installing software on Linux environments.
- Sound understanding of Unix.
