My client is a very specialist company focused on engineering computation and simulation. They provide their clients in the oil and gas, aeronautical and geotechnical industries (among others) with leading software solutions. Computational Mechanics and Corrosion Management are key areas of work for my client. Established since the late 1970's my client is a well-respected and leading firm in this niche area.
This is a very interesting opportunity to begin a niche career. This role is all about providing specialist insight, technical expertise and carrying out complex modelling work across a range of exciting engineering industries. There is plenty of variety in the clients you would work with and the projects you would complete, for example you could be working on the corrosion of an oil rig in your first project or work on projects in fractures and crack growth in machinery or aeroplanes etc.
Firstly you will be involved in a range of computational modelling including zoning, meshing and analysis. You will also provide technical support to existing clients and will carry out modelling consultancy projects. Finally you may also be involved in delivering training courses on the practical application of their software and may also be required to travel internationally to meet clients.
Requirements:
- A strong academic background with a 2:1 degree from a top 30 University and a minimum of 300 UCAS points.
- A technical subject at degree level relevant to this field i.e. Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Electronic, Aeronautical or related Engineering courses, or Maths or Physics.
- If you have studied a Master's this would also be an advantage.
- Technical understanding of basic software is ideal, C or C++ for example.
- Software used throughout engineering degrees will be an advantage, such as CFD, FEA etc.
- You will be an accurate, organised individual with good time management skills.
- Strong team player, looking to expand your knowledge quickly.
- A driven and proactive personality, and able to communicate effectively and confidently.
- A driving licence and own transport would be advantageous.
