My client is a true leader in its field. They have been established since the 1970's and they provide automated analysis and testing tools for software applications on which people's lives depend. They have a client base which spans a range of sectors including aerospace, defence, nuclear, medical and automotive sectors. Their clients use the firm's software to make sure that their systems are safe and compliant.
My client is keen to consider those who are able to start immediately and those who are in their final year of study.
You will initially be employed as a graduate in their software engineering team, learning all about the client's software and its functionality and how their clients use it. After you have successfully completed this training you will be working as a Software Field Engineer, which is a very client facing role whereby you will be working with the company's clients and bridging the gap between the coders and the sales team, working on client site giving product demonstrations, providing end user feedback to the development teams and working with the sales team to identify ways to grow the business.
Typical onsite tasks could include:
-Applying best principals in the software development lifecycle
-Complying with coding standards (industry and user-defined)
-Performing coverage analysis on all code down to the target level
-Automated unit and system level testing
-Execution requirements-based testing
-Tracing all requirements and design artefacts throughout the development lifecycle
-Automatically producing certificationapproval evidence
The role will involve travel throughout the UK (and sometimes to Europe).
You should have or be expecting a 2.1 from a technical degree; this can be IT focussed or Engineering, Maths or Physics. You must have a good appreciation of OO programming (C, C++ or Java) and be a confident communicator.
The role will involve travel; a driving license isn't a prerequisite for the role but you will be expected to learn to drive within an reasonable time frame.
If you speak any other European languages it would be an added bonus.
