My client is a successful economic research consultancy which has a first class reputation throughout the UK for providing high quality and outstanding support to clients in local, regional and national markets.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Postgraduate with a passion for Economic Development and Urban Regeneration to work for a successful economic development consultancy.
You will be working alongside Directors and more senior Consultants. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure to important clients on a national base and work on major projects.
This position offers excellent on the job training and there are great opportunities for progression. They offer an excellent package. You will be based in the centre of Manchester.
The Role
- Working on a range of economic development and urban regeneration projects
- Providing detailed insight into business sectors and profiling towns and communities
- Analysis of both quantitative and qualitative economic data
- Carrying out study fieldwork including research interviews (face-to-face and telephone), and supporting focus groups and workshops
- Keeping up to date on economic development policy and schemes to inform your day to day work
- Preparing and writing reports, presenting to senior colleagues and eventually clients
Essential Skills
- Minimum postgraduate degree from a top university in Economics, Social Geography, Planning, Politics or similar with strong UCAS points
- Demonstrable interest in places, planning, and economic development
- At least four month's work experience in an analyst research or relevant position
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with outstanding attention to detail
- Strong numeracy and data analysis skills
- Good Excel skills
