Established as recently as 2006, our client is an executive search firm based in London who operates on an international scale. They were founded by four business partners who share a combined experience of over 40 years within the sector and specifically focus on the movement of front office leaders within all areas of financial services.
This business looks to grow and nurture their own people from junior level up, which has helped them to grow to around 30 employees. Each new hire is placed in a very specialist area of research alongside experienced Senior Consultants, and will experience a very steep learning curve and exposure to a challenging and grown-up working environment.
PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR CANDIDATES WHO CAN START IMMEDIATELY.
The graduate position within this firm is that of a Researcher. Your duties will be critical to ensure the successful identification and ultimately, placement of suitable candidates for each mandate. These include:
- Attending client briefing meetings with Consultants and Partners to discuss business needs
- Formulating strategy on how to conduct research and which companies to target
- Telephone-based networking with front office executives (mostly traders) to establish names, positions and opportunities
- Consulting with individuals as to where their future paths may lie
- Compiling long lists of potential candidates and advising of best fit
We have been advised that the role carries a basic salary of £20-25k depending on the level of commercial work experience and that there are discretionary bonuses paid out every March and August based on your personal contribution. Both of these bonuses can be very substantial. Progression to Senior Researcher is dependent on your performance but should take around 12 months and then a few more months to move into a Consultant position.
Essential Skills:
First and foremost, polished levels of communication and rapport are vital for this position given that the majority of your research will be on the telephone. The detailed and very specific product knowledge that you will need to develop requires those with an inquisitive nature, ability to challenge ideas and commercial perception.
Ideally you will have an understanding of the financial services sector and its different product areas, and you must certainly have an interest in learning more.
