A specialist executive search organisation in the city who are extremely successful in researching, identifying and placing top-performing professionals within a broad range of financial services functions. Their expertise within the sector means they are able to assist their clients on vacancies across the globe.
The company are benefitting from a very successful hiring strategy which means they now have an outstanding team of Partners, Consultants and Researchers, the latter being the graduate entry-level position.
Alongside core operations they also offer consulting services such as competitor analysis, board assessment, salary surveys, market mapping and employee development.
The role of a Researcher is vital in providing key market, competitor and human information which should ultimately lead to the placement of executives into important positions within finance. Given the quantity and depth of information you will need in order to fulfil each vacancy you will only ever work on two or three mandates at a time.
Your key duties will be:
- Providing key market information ahead of client presentation
- Consultation of role specification and key targets
- Research, sourcing and identification of potential candidates through desk research, telephone research and networking
- Initial approaches to ascertain candidate interest and to generate long list of targets with CVs and appraisals
- Sitting in on interviews with candidates on the short list and consulting with team to establish leading candidates
- Undertaking reference checking
On top of a very competitive basic salary you will qualify for additional bonuses based on the quality of your work for each assignment. As your career progresses with the company your responsibilities will expand along with your expertise and market knowledge.
We will only consider those with a strong academic background and ultimately a 2.1 or First class degree from a leading university. You must have some form of commercial work experience, ideally within banking or financial services. You must also have a strong interest in finance which will need to be highlighted on your CV. This role involves lots of communication with intelligent, articulate and mature professionals so your levels of communication will need to replicate this.
