Founded in 1998 and based in Central Brighton, my client is a leading provider of recruitment services to the Technology, Digital Media and Communications sectors. They are a small business who, having hired a handful of excellent experienced consultants in 2010, are now looking to bring new talent to supplement this growth in 2011.

Recruitment is a fast-paced, dynamic sales-driven career and is looked favourably upon due the earning potential and vast career progression options available. Initially you will help a Consultant obtain the right candidates for their role meaning that you will gain extensive candidate exposure in the first instance. From here, you will progress to Consultant yourself which will lead to increased financial incentives and a more challenging role.
As an Associate, you will be responsible for:
- Advertising roles on the major jobs boards
- Alerting candidates to suitable roles via email
- Finding candidates from social networking sites such as LinkedIn
- Cold-calling candidates to discuss and sell particular roles to them
- Assessing client requirements and using your networking capabilities to obtain candidate interest
- Negotiating salaries and fees in order to close the deal
- Attending client meetings to obtain a job briefing
- Interviewing and screening candidates to ensure suitability for a role
Based in Brighton, my client is offering an initial package of £16-18k with the earning potential in year 1 of up to £35k. The commission structure is uncapped and company incentives include international travel, go-karting, fully subsidised outings in London and Brighton, champagne evenings and spa weekends.
The Candidate:
- As the role is predominantly telephone based, you will need a confident telephone manner and possess effective communication skills
- In recruitment more people will say no than yes, so resilience and tenacity is vital
- A positive mental attitude is important as there are frustrations in any sales role
- An interest in the telecommunications industry would be advantageous
- Excellent persuasiveness and negotiation skills to help close the deal
- Attention to detail ? you will need to ask the candidate questions and be accurate in the information you obtain in order to feed this back to your client
You will need to be located in Brighton, East Sussex or of a reasonable commutable distance.
