My client designs, manufacturers, installs and monitors structural and geotechnical instrumentation. Innovation and R and D are key to their business model and rapid growth. They currently employ over 100 staff and operate in several countries worldwide.
The role of Graduate Project Technician will see you enhance your engineering skills and provides a long term route into a senior engineering position. You will gain a solid grounding in the business and can experience areas such as R and D, site management or sales.
Key duties include:
- Liaising and meeting with third party and client representatives
- Issuing documentation to third party and client representatives
- Construction of method statements and similar documents detailing methodology and safe systems of work
- Planning and organising monitoring system implementation
- Ensuring targets and dates are met with regards to delivery of operations
- Designing bespoke items; engineering solutions
- Determination of quantities and involvement in procurement processes
- Administering briefs and inductions; ensuring relevant briefs and inductions are administered by designated persons
- Health and safety monitoring, reporting and documenting
- Supervising site teams
- Building knowledge of structural and geotechnical monitoring systems; awareness of new products and engineering solutions
- Liaising with technical staff to design jobsite specific data acquisition systems
- Progress reporting for Engineers and PM's
- Adhoc tasks for Line Manager as required
Essential skills for the role include:
- To hold a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction, Geophysics, Geoscience or a related discipline
- Strong interpersonal skills; Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and peers, both verbally and in writing
- Attention to detail; Be precise and meticulous in ensuring processes are conducted correctly and in a timely manner
- Time Management; Ability to effectively manage time and tasks to achieve high productivity
- Commercially aware
- Self-motivated
