An opportunity has arisen to join the organisation as a Product Controller; this role will see the successful incumbent based in the finance department's regulatory team. Product control is the department within the bank responsible for independently measuring and reporting the trading PandL and balance sheet of the bank and for ensuring the overall control of financial processes that surround the trading businesses.

You will be tasked with ensuring that the Bank's portfolio is accurately and comprehensively represented in the general ledger in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, under the bank's agreed accounting and valuation policy as set by the internal finance department.

Candidates will take responsibility for some of the PandL process. This includes, but is not limited to, the following major tasks:

- Reporting of daily, monthly and year to date trading PandL and balance sheet
- Bank wide market data-capture
- Book control
- Client valuations
- Analyse and report to the front office on material adjustments to the PandL including discrepancies
- Ensure timely, accurate and controlled reporting of the Bank's trade portfolio
- Ensure that the Bank's trade portfolio is accurately represented within the general ledger by operating a suitable control framework.

As part of the role you will also be able to work to a professional qualification within a professional accounting body.

In order to apply candidates must:

- Have achieved or be on course to achieve a 2.1 degree classification in an Accounting, Finance or Maths discipline
- Have strong analytical skills
- Possess an aptitude to learn and grasp accounting concepts and financial products
- Demonstrate an ability to understand and apply finance in daily life
- Intend to pursue an accounting qualification
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Be able to write and speak in English to mother-tongue standard
- Have an excellent attention to detail
- Have excellent knowledge of all Microsoft office programmes

It would also be beneficial if candidates have:

- Prior office based work experience preferably within a bank
- Prior accounting experience
- Understanding of basic financial products
