Reporting to the Technical Manager, the main objectives of the Process Technologist role are:
- Monitor and improve output, scrap and downtime on designated units.
- Generate ideas to feed into project work.
- Appropriate project work to develop processes and products.
- Supervise plant trials.
- Pivotal support role as the technologist for designated machines.
- Undertake quality investigations and implement corrective actions for all quality related issues on designated units.
- Other production support functions including working closely with shift personnel and maintaining, updating, operating and troubleshooting manuals for machines.
This role will involve plenty of hands on experience and will hope to move you quickly towards production manager positions and further.
Requirements:
- Degree (2:1 grade minimum although we can consider 2:2's from top 30 Universities according to the 2016 Sunday times list or equivalent) in Chemistry, Material Science or Chemical Engineering.
- A bias towards Polymer Science would be an advantage.
- You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A positive, 'can do' attitude is important.
- Natural flair and aptitude for innovation and problem solving.
- Demonstrable project experience and leadership skills are really valued.
- Driving licence would be ideal but not essential.
