My client is a global leader in speciality metals. They are an international metal stockholder, distributor, trading company and metal processor, supplying corrosion resistant, heat resistant and aerospace alloys, to a wide range of customers and industries worldwide.
This position will see you explore many sides of the business.
Joining a smaller team based in Lancashire your day will consist of a number of duties including:
- dealing with technical aspects of quality assurance and control issues
- sales led, application based technical evaluation of alloys in the laboratory
- working with suppliers, understanding production methods and their limitations, new alloy developments, their benefits and features, introduction of new grades to markets and customers involving design, production, fabrication, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance issues
- providing technical support to customers
- application based, technical sales and marketing of alloys
- travelling to customers and suppliers both in the UK and overseas
Full training will be provided and you will be supported to gain professional qualifications. There is considerable potential for progress within the company structure.
The right candidate will be a degree qualified Metallurgist with a minimum 2:2 degree.

- excellent communication skills
- ability to work in a team environment as well as on your own
- an inquisitive approach to work and the aptitude to learn more
Any other languages would be a great bonus but certainly not a necessity.
