This role is a functional position that will stretch and challenge you from day one, and progress you through IET Chartership.
As a much younger, newer facility than the Bristol manufacturing plant, this site uses purely synthetic Gypsum recycled from nearby power stations, making it a lean and green manufacturing machine. However, the energy efficiency and reliability could always be enhanced, particularly through the continuous improvement initiatives and engineering philosophy. They want it to be exceptional so this is where you come in?.
The three years will advance you as an engineer, giving you the tools and mentoring support to become a future leader.
Initially focusing on maintenance planning and inspections, you will evolve into a Maintenance Coordinator within 12-18 months. This will see you:
- Maintaining SAP as an internal database
- Supporting planned shutdowns
- Optimising plant performance by means of effective planning and coordination of resources,
- Providing preventative maintenance support to engineering teams and contractors, through implementation of robust predictive systems
Your attention will then shift towards supporting the team with extensive diagnostics, leading to preventative maintenance and innovation - you will be predicting faults before they arise!
You will also be fully involved in the negotiation of annual contracts and compliance with legislation - a key step towards you developing into your next role.
We are looking for a strong communicator who is driven, resilient and respectful. You will be able to implement common sense and good judgement to communicate across all levels of the business.
We also require:
- A 2:1 ideally (although 2:2's considered) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering
- Understanding of power transmission and distribution
- Passion and drive for continuous improvement
- Analytical problem solving ability
- Some engineering industry experience
- Strong attention to detail
- Driving licence
Desired Skills:
- Good understanding of PLC's
- BTEC type route to university could be an advantage
- Knowledge of SAP
