Our client is a leading supplier of global financial trading software. The company has offices in New York, London, Paris, Tokyo and Hong Kong with development centres located in each major region. The company is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is globally renowned for its financial software products. Their applications are sold in all of the world's major financial centres to top-tier investment banks.
When combined with the implementation skills of more than 150 experienced specialists, the company's trading platform has become the natural choice for the majority of the world's top tier investment banks.
The successful individual will have a technical background and be able to work as a part of a team in a pressurised service delivery environment. You will be playing a pivotal role in their connectivity team based at their technical HQ.
Your day to day dutues will be varied and include:
-To implement connectivity between two parties on the network
-Analysing requirements for new services
-To certify new services on the network
-To manage their own queue of work
-Liaise with clients and internal teams regarding connectivity based projects
-Maintaining accurate information such as projected go live dates, current status etc in the workflow system
-To liaise with other teams within Connectivity as and when needed i.e. if additional certification is required
-To offer 3rd line support to the Support department
This is an interesting and challenging role for a technical graduate who wants to work in IT but not in a purely coding role.
Requirements:
-Computer Science or numerate degree (e.g. Maths) at 2.1 or above (or equivalent)
-Demonstrable programming skills in one or more of the following: C++, CSharp, Java
-Strong organisational and communication skills
-Ability to work alone and as a team player
-Ability to manage multiple projects at any one time
-Ability to prioritise conflicting requirements
-Ability to follow detailed processes and procedures
-Focused and process driven
-Experience of interacting with internal and external clients and third parties in a confident and informed manner.
