Our client is a leading supplier of global financial trading software. The company has offices in New York, London, Paris, Tokyo and Hong Kong with development centres located in each major region. The company is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is globally renowned for its financial software products. Their applications are sold in all of the world's major financial centres to top-tier investment banks.
When combined with the implementation skills of more than 150 experienced specialists, the company's trading platform has become the natural choice for the majority of the world's top tier investment banks.
Based out of my client's Surrey head office they are looking to hire a number of Graduate Delivery Engineers or Implementation Consultants. The role involves implementing and configuring the company's software using Unix, TCL and SQL. Whilst previous experience in these areas would be ideal, it is not essential as training can be provided.
The primary responsibility is to implement and configure their Hosted European Trading Platform. This will involve the following types of work:
-Building new client systems
-Implementing changes to client systems. These include business changes, additional services, operational and maintenance changes, and mandatory exchange or regulatory changes
-Performing technical upgrades to client systems
Technical procedures will need to be followed and the individual will have the opportunity to contribute to process improvement and updating related documentation. The individual will need to follow a schedule of work and keep their line manager fully informed of progress.
Longer term, as your knowledge and experience develops and dependent on performance, there will be opportunities to:
-Manage the delivery of specific projects
-Manage the delivery of work for a particular group of clients
-Take responsibility for a particular functional area
-Take responsibility for a particular exchange(s)
-Coaching and mentoring of other team members
Successful candidates will meet all of the following requirements:
-Computer related or numerate degree, or equivalent
-Technically minded, enthusiastic and highly motivated ?must have knowledge of at least 1 scripting language ( perl, vb, tcl)
-Aptitude for solving complex technical problems
-Be able to adhere to complex and detailed procedures
-Knowledge of SQL or relational DBMS
-Experience with linux or unix is desired.
