Our client is the London based securities and investment banking arm of one of the world's largest banking groups.
Our client focuses on being an enterprising, leading-edge and open organisation enabling individuals to demonstrate their capabilities and grow their careers within the company.
The organisation is launching a front office graduate scheme that will sit within the Fixed Income Business area. The Fixed income business provides an extensive range of services to a Global Institutional Client Base, from rates product through the full spectrum of credit markets.
There will be opportunities within both Fixed Income Sales and also within Trading. The sales team cover all markets for institutional and hedge fund accounts across the UK, Continental Europe, Middle East, US and the Far East. The trading platform provides markets and liquidity in an extensive range of fixed income products, whether as primary, Secondary or Repo Counterparty.
Incumbents joining either stream will initially shadow and support the senior individuals however you will have real responsibility and client interaction from Day 1. Once you are FCA approved you will take ownership of your own book and will be expected to utilise existing relationships and resources to develop your own client base.
If you believe you would be a good fit for this position, the applications will be considered as of the week beginning 4th August. Interviews and assessment days will be held in London from mid August to early September and the role will start early to mid October.
In order to apply it is essential that you:
- Have achieved a minimum of a 2:1 or equivalent in your undergraduate degree
- Have an excellent academic history
- Have a demonstrable interest in Fixed Income
- Have a solid understanding of financial products and instruments
- Are a solid communicator with a clear and confident communication style
- Are a self starter who wants to be challenged and thrives in a high pressured front office environment
- Are able to build and foster long lasting relationships with both clients and colleagues alike
- Can demonstrate determination and perseverance
- Have a flexible approach to tasks.
It would also be advantageous to:
- Have an interest in both Asian culture, lifestyle and the region in general
- Have prior work experience within an investment Bank (all areas considered - front, middle and back office)
- Second language skills would be advantageous
