This organisation delivers consultancy services relating to their clients Customs and Excise duty. They work with a number of multinational businesses across multiple industries.
An opportunity has arisen to join the organisation as a Junior Analyst. The incumbent will work in a client facing role and will initially shadow Senior Consultants on all current projects.
You will assist in analysing and investigating Customs and Excise duty paid by the clients to the relevant authorities. You will be involved in a mixture of both compliance and legal work and will look for ways the clients can reduce customs duty paid when importing or moving products into and around the EU.
You will learn on the job, so we are looking for self starters who are keen to be challenged. Successful candidates will be given the opportunity to progress quickly through the business into a senior role.
Duties will include:
- Representing clients in communications with customs authorities
- Gaining an understanding of UK and EU customs and excise laws and regulations
- Conducting analysis on behalf of clients
- Reviewing relevant excise and financial data
- Day to day admin and support services
- Updating technical correspondence
From time to time the incumbent must be willing to travel around the UK and the EU.
In order to apply it is essential that:
- You have achieved a 2:1 or equivalent in your undergraduate degree
- You have excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- You have advanced Excel skills and are able to analyse and manipulate data
- You are interested in learning more about customs and excise
- You are a proactive self starter who enjoys learning through doing
- You have an entrepreneurial spirit and want to learn how business really works
- You have a passion for problem solving
