My client is a leader in its field of sustainable logistics, warehousing and distribution.

Main purpose of the role:

Working with the commercial, operations and property teams to assist on and deliver
sustainability projects that are profit making, offer environmentally beneficial services to the other Group companies, their current customers and new customers.

Duties and responsibilities:

Business support
-To drive improvement in environmental performance across the group
-Provide consultancy and advisory service for commercial elements by assisting with tenders and giving presentation to customers, and operations elements by implementing initiatives and assisting with reducing overheads
-Represent group at relevant environmental forums

Carbon Reporting
-Collation of environmental data across the group for monthly reports
-Environmental audits of depots
-Implement initiatives to reduce carbon emissions
-Production of annual carbon report for publication

Sustainable Development
-Carry out research as required into new environmental technologies.
-Provide input into plans for environmental business opportunities to secure investment
to expand the business.
-Assist on projects such as alternative fuels and waste to energy as required

Requirements:

-Degree in an Environmental Science, Environmental Management related subject or Business with a
focus on sustainability
-Interest in sustainability issues
-Excellent self motivation and self discipline
-Strong numerical and analytical skills
-Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
-The ability to co-ordinate a number of tasks simultaneously
-The ability to establish and maintain good working relationships
-Full clean driving license and willingness to travel
-Flexibility; the ability to adapt and cope with the unexpected
