Welcome to Engineering at Siniat - the department where it all happens! This role is a functional position that will stretch and challenge you from day one and progress you through IMechE Charterhsip.
Starting from the ground up, you will begin your three year journey on the manufacturing floor getting to grips with shift work and the day to day running of this huge facility.
Progressing through your first and second years you will experience a combination of hands on job mentoring as well as classroom learning. You will report into the Reliability Manager and will rotate around all engineering functions from maintenance (failure rate analysis) to shift management (planning of staff and materials), quality and of course reliability.
The final year will see you taking on a lot more responsibility, managing projects such as;
- Optimising the maintenance strategy for the plant to ensure it is cost effective and supports machine efficiency, quality and business targets. This includes shutdown management, emerging work and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
- Reviewing the existing site PPM's.
- Supporting the reliability of the plant in terms of both quality and machine efficiency by actively monitoring and understanding the failure rates and patterns for the equipment.
- Fully investigating machine failures with the area teams, utilising the appropriate problem solving techniques to determine root cause and generate the correct preventative actions for the failure.
With plenty of opportunity to own projects and be an integral part of the department, this scheme doesn't let you down. You'll be constantly kept busy and will get a chance to really hone your time management skills and ability to deal with pressure.
We are looking for a strong communicator who is driven, resilient and respectful. You will be able to implement common sense and good judgement to communicate across all levels of departments.
We also require;
- A 2:1 ideally, or equivalent (although 2:2?s considered) in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
- Maths A-level grade B or equivalent
- Analytical problem solving ability
- Knowledge of stress and strain, AutoCAD and statistics
- Some engineering industry experience
- Strong attention to detail
- Driving licence
