My client provides engineering tools and equipment to the oil and gas industry.
My client is urgently seeking Engineering graduates with exposure to CAD to work as Design Engineers. You will join the design team and as this team is relatively small you will play a pivotal role in their output.
The role is directly responsible to the Managing Director on technical issues, and the Design and Project Manager for day to day operational and planning issues.
The Design and Project Engineer is responsible for:
Assigned new product design
- modification of existing products
- maintenance of project records
- production of reports
- prototype testing
- customer liaison
Management of assigned projects
- Planning and liaison with team members to produce optimum results for both internal and external customers
- Liaison with workshop personnel to ensure projects are produced on time and within budget
- Support for the management of all manufacturing projects, as requested by the Production Manager
Training
- Facilitating in all aspects of training
- Training and support for all trainees, including mentoring and liaison with training providers and assessors
- Identifying skills gaps and ensuring trainees have optimum route to full competency
- Continuing to develop own technical and leadership skills appropriate for the job role and future company expectations
Essential skills for this role:
- To have a 2:2 in Mechanical Engineering or related
- To have worked in a commercial engineering environment either post degree, internship or a year in industry
- Good knowledge of CAD or related software
- Desire to work in a small team environment
- Demonstrable passion and drive.
