Job Title: Graduate Data Analyst

Our client is an online retailer with a focus on the sale of books to customers all over the world. They trade on over 20 online marketplaces worldwide, operating on sites such as Amazon, eBay and Play.com.

To continue with this story of growth and success, they require enterprising talent to help them thrive in the world of online retail.

Our client is now looking for a graduate to join them as a Data Analyst.

The role entails statistical analysis, data mining and trend spotting. You will be working directly with the Managing Director in assessing new business strategies and putting them into action on some of the world's biggest websites and presenting the results. You will be analysing existing algorithims that decide pricing and creating new pricing models. You will also be involved with finding out what their customers like best, by datamining their habits and studying buying patterns.

The post is initially for 6 months, but with the potential to go permanent, based on performance.

Essential skills for the role to include:

- at least a 2.1 or above in a statistical or numerate discipline
- very strong numerate skills
- excellent attention to detail, particularly with figures and numbers
- ability to work independently
- ability to work to tight deadlines
- excellent skills using all MS Office apps, especially Excel and PowerPoint

Desirable skills for the role to include:

- experience of using specialist statistical analysis software, e.g SAS
- proven passion for retail and online retail
