My client's business support division provides first line technical and functional support for all incoming client issues on the company's large IT product suite. In order to meet the requirements of a demanding client base and the diverse needs of an ever changing financial industry, this team caters for the immediate needs of their customers, resolving a high percentage of issues independently and liaising with specialist groups to ensure fast resolution for more complex problems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Receives all client raised issues (via email and telephone) and enters on the internal call logging system
-Analyses each call, using technical skills to identify the nature of issues and action appropriately
-Deals with calls immediately, either independently or by passing to the appropriate team to ensure optimum resolution
-Works to improve knowledge and skills to increase 1st line resolution within Business Support
-Attends client sites in a technical capacity to aid resolution of issues, raise the profile of the Business Support team and increase business understanding
-Develops strong working relationships with other departments to assist with the delivery of their service to clients
-Adheres to 'best practice' for client communications and call progression
-Participates in the team shift patterns and assists with weekend work and out of hours escalation when required
The successful candidate will display a range of skills (both technical and interpersonal) and have the ability to use them with versatility. This busy and fast moving job requires an enthusiastic team player who is comfortable working both independently and with colleagues to achieve fast and accurate results. A keen eye for detail is essential.
You will need to be resourceful and confident, and have the ability to remain optimistic and calm in a demanding workplace.
You should enjoy interacting with people, and have a desire to be helpful to both customers and colleagues alike.
The successful candidate will meet all of the below requirements:
-Hold an IT or Business related Degree or equivalent experience
-Ability to read and understand code in one or more of the following: C++, TCL, UNIX Scripting
-Have an enquiring mind with an analytical and proactive approach to problem solving, even when under pressure
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
