Focusing on Chassis design the team are looking to develop and branch into new areas, often taking on bespoke design projects. This is the perfect opportunity for Engineers who are eager to further develop their skills in a non-restricting, automotive engineering environment.
Variety, development and independence are key features of this unique opportunity. Due to the nature of the company you will work on a multitude of projects including areas such as vehicle systems, powertrain and structure. The projects will alternate between team efforts as well as independent work, so you will have the chance to manage your own projects from an early stage.
You will work alongside the entire team, including the MD, so will learn and improve your skills through their tailored mentorship and internal training. In addition to your personal development you will be supported towards Chartership, should you want to pursue it.
The role will consist of (but not limited to):
- Concept design, CAD, FEA, detailed design, multi-body modelling and first principles design
- Developing and understanding other areas that impact on designs to sufficient level to control suppliers and understand issues (e.g. hydraulics, electronics etc)
- Project, time and budget management
- High quality report writing and presentation preparation and delivery to clients
- Customer and supplier liaison within an engineering consultative capacity
Essential Skills:
- MEng in Engineering with a Mechanical bias - 2:1 equivalent or above
- Strong A-Levels (or equivalent) in at least A- Maths and A - Physics
- Available for an immediate start
Desired Skills:
- Strong knowledge of first principles calculations, hand calculations, simulations and MatLab
- Well developed CAD Skills
- Strong understanding of FEA and Multi-body Analysis software (MSC ADAMS, SolidWorks Simulation etc)
- Experience within Engineering Design (prototypes, concepts, models etc)
- Confident communicator
- Extra-curricular experience within an engineering capacity through work experience or hobbies would be beneficial
