Our client is a market leading provider of IT management systems for a niche sector across the UK and internationally. They are part of a wider group who are a FTSE 100 company.
The role of Assistant Product Manager is extremely broad; initially you will be supporting and shadowing the Product Manager throughout the whole project lifecycle to understand the business and expectations of the role.
Specific tasks within the team include:
Understanding the Need
- Working with sales, marketing, support and customers to establish what new functionality or changes to the product the market needs.
Planning and Strategy
- Take ownership, working with internal teams to build a roadmap of what needs to be built.
Delivery
- Coordinating efforts to make sure a great product is developed and launched successfully.
You will be working closely with the sales, marketing and support teams as well as clients to deliver winning products. Initially the role is supporting the established Product Managers during your learning period; once established you will move into the role yourself and be given part of the suite to manage and be responsible for the product's success.
This role offers early responsibility and is a fantastic opportunity to work with and gain an understanding of different parts of the business within a niche area of a large Blue Chip.
Essential skills include:
- Educated to degree level in a variety of backgrounds; Information Systems, Management, Business or related, 2:2 or above.
- An interest in technology is essential, but this is NOT a technical role.
- Great networking and influencing skills.
- Enthusiasm for leading projects.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent time management.
- Willingness for travel.
- Full UK driver's licence.
- Be a logical thinker and problem solver.
