The role:
My client is seeking Application Consultants to work with their clients to install and customise software to their needs. This highly demanding and varied work will involve travel both in the UK and abroad. Projects vary in duration from 2-6 months and require that some time is spent on-site with clients. Exposure to senior business management practises in the FMCG industry is guaranteed.
The person:
Application Consultants must have the ability to learn quickly. An essential part of the role is to understand the client's requirements and find ways to apply their software to their business problems, therefore good problem solving and analytical skills are vital. You will be highly PC literate, preferably with some programming experience. You will have an affinity for IT and be highly numerate. Attention to detail is a key attribute as is an energetic and positive outlook. You will have the aptitude to accept early responsibility and will always be looking to improve on what has been done before.
Essential skills to include:
- Commercial experience (industrial placements included)
- 2.1 or above in Computer Science, Physics, Maths or related
- A minimum of 300 UCAS points including an A grade A-Level in Maths
- Analytical and numerical
- High level of IT proficiency
- The ability to communicate information to all members of the business and clients as required
- The ability to quickly understand requirements and be able to produce work of high quality consistently
- Experience of meeting deadlines and working under pressure
- Willing to undertake further training and development
- The ability to manage conflicting priorities
- Reliable and motivated
- Mathematical or Science base to education
- Experience of programming
