Free The Children seeks a Finance and Administrative Coordinator to compliment our team and ensure the smooth running of the Free The Children UK operation. The successful candidate will oversee elements of finance, bookkeeping, reporting, compliance, administration, and other general operations. A sophisticated level of professionalism, confidentiality and discretion is crucial.
There is a six (6) month probationary period, upon reaching the three (3) month period, all staff members are offered the opportunity to join our private medical and dental scheme. The position is based out of Free The Children's UK operation office in London.
This position resides within Free the Children's United Kingdom operation in London (7-11 St. John's Hill, London, England, SW11 1TR).
This is a full-time role and the salary is negotiable.
A minimum two-year commitment is expected.

Responsibilities:
Ensure the smooth and efficient running of a busy and expanding charity
Maintain accounting system (software to be determined) and produce regular monthly and quarterly reports
Maintain monthly bank, staff expense and petty cash reconciliations
Record office expenditure and maintain ledger and budget control
File and maintain financial records in a systematic way
Support in the preparation of annual accounts and external audit papers and produce correspondence, trustee reports and confidential documents in consultation with the Directorship
Maintain statutory and best-practice processes relevant to an incorporated charity, e.g. registration of members, updating of trustee data, ensuring relevant deadlines are met for insurance, annual returns and maintenance contracts
Record and manage donation data in line with internal policy and produce reports as required

Skills and Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have proven experience of bookkeeping using accounting software. The candidate should also possess proven office administration related experience particularly within the finance function of a charity.
Possess a degree and/or relevant experience in business or charity administration and finance
Experience of bookkeeping using accounting software is essential
Strong experience working with excel
Methodical with a thorough approach to work producing accurate work to a high standard
Strong oral and written communication skills
Experience reporting to senior staff
Strong inter-personal skills
Enjoy working in a demanding, fast paced work environment and flexible with work hours as necessary
Highly self-motivated and independent and a strategic thinker
