What does your company do?
A digital media company producing creative, innovative and engaging football focused content for the web. By telling untold football stories they create genuine audience engagement with the fan based communities which fuel it. The company strongly believe in the power of connecting young audiences with their passions through film and partnerships with major brands who are looking to engage with those audiences, such partners include Adidas, HTC and Hyundai.
How can your intern expect to spend their day?
You will join the finance team as an accounting assistant responsible for the purchasing and cash book processing of the company together with assisting with the management accounting process.
The role is part of an accounting team which also works closely with the production management side of the Company.
The candidate should be reliable, consistent and able to complete their work to deadline. As the business is about to expand significantly flexibility and an eye on how to improve and streamline processes are also important.
Tasks you can expect to undertake include:
- Processing of purchase invoices and weekly payment runs.
- Reviewing and processing of advance requests and expense claims.
- Processing of monthly credit cards.
- Preparing monthly bank and petty cash reconciliations.
- Raising sales invoices.
- The role has potential to grow as the company continues to expand.
Tell us about your ideal intern's personality and qualifications:
The ideal candidate will be someone looking to develop a successful career in finance and accounting. The candidate should also be interested in having strategic input into a rapidly growing business and looking to develop alongside the company.
Desired skills, education and experience:
- Educated to degree level.
- Able to work to deadlines.
- Ability to deal with both financial and non-financial people principally producers and production managers.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Able to work on their own and take ownership of key duties.
The following would be a bonus but not prerequisite:
- Use of Sage 50 Accounts
- Intermediate level excel skills.
- Good knowledge of VAT.
- Foundation levels in accountancy.
- Previous work experiencing in the media or production sectors.
