About the role...
We are looking for two bright, new computer science graduates to add sparkle to a highly successful development team based in Malvern Hills Science Park, Worcestershire.
Specifically, we need software engineers for ongoing development in web presence, graphical user interfaces and application development. You will be working with modern development tools and approaches, using leading-edge technologies for products and infrastructure. Java and XSLT2 are our main languages, we also use C# and .NET as well as Atlassian, a modern agile development environment. Experience of development approaches and languages beyond imperative programming would be useful for this role.
Desirable Skills...
Knowledge and interest in some of these areas would be useful, training can be provided where necessary:
XSLT
Graphical User Interface design
CSS/JavaScript and other related web technologies
Technical communication / software demonstration
Continuous integration and project management systems
System administration (MS Windows/UNIX/Solaris)
Interest in pre-sales support and demonstrating our software
You will also need...
A Computer Science degree at 2:1 or above that you have attained in the last 3 years.
Object-oriented programming e.g. Java.
Understanding of XML
To be able to work well both on your own initiative as well as part of a team
Proven track record of delivering on your commitments
Able to check own work for errors as well as the work of others
Experience in presentation skills would be desirable
A strong work ethic, be results orientated, and able to work with minimal supervision.
To possess excellent interpersonal skills and a ‘can do’ attitude, prepared to ‘muck in’ with colleagues.
To have a high attention to detail
A full Driving Licence and own transport is desirable but not essential
