We want you to make tomorrow even more exciting than today, combining the strategic vision to conceive our future with the strength of character to go about creating it. You'll be an inspiration to colleagues, a facilitator to customers and a lightning rod for innovation across the business. So whichever leadership programme you choose, expect an intensive two-year introduction to the fascinating world of financial services as you prepare for a top-level career in your chosen field.
The programmes
There are several paths to the top of the FLDP. Our all-new Global Retail Banking Leadership Programme will give you a broad overview of the business, deep customer insight and a clear sense of where your strengths and your prospects lie. Or you could opt for one of seven Functional Leadership Programmes that will prepare you for a high-flying future in Human Resources, Retail, Credit Risk and Analytics, Finance or Tax.
Whichever path is right for you, the overall training structure remains the same. You'll spend two years rotating around a series of placements to see your part of the business from a number of perspectives and develop a deeper understanding of how we work. At least one placement will be client-centric, while both international travel and training for the best relevant professional qualifications are par for the course. The experiences you gain along the way will give you the commercial mindset and strategic outlook to build on your natural ambition and transform you from next big thing to fully-fledged business leader.
Who we look for
It goes without saying that your academic record will be of the highest order (a minimum 2.1 to be precise). But what we're really interested in is your potential, which is why we've identified six key behavioural sets that mark out our future leaders. These are hunger and ambition; relationship building; organisational awareness; personal resilience and flexibility; pragmatism and common sense; and creativity and innovation.
