We are looking for graduates to join our Information Management, Systems and Technology Department graduate training programme to develop technical and non-technical managers for a range of careers ranging from Infrastructure Architects and Developers to Project Managers, People Managers and Service and Support Managers.

Within BAE Systems Maritime - Submarines, we have a long heritage and distinguished history of supplying warships, submarines and related technology to the Royal Navy. We are the only ship yard in the country capable of building nuclear submarines.

I.T plays a key role in the provision and support of the technology used to drive the production of our Submarines. The Information Management Systems and Technology function (IMST) has over 100 BAE Systems employees in the Submarines business unit alone and partners with other technology companies. We support over 5,000 users at numerous locations across the UK with opportunities worldwide. Our IT programme of work is innovative and challenging.
We are currently implementing a number of significant projects including a SAP implementation, Programme Lifecycle Management systems (PLM) and SharePoint.

IMST Graduate
The Submarines IMST Graduate Scheme will provide you with the opportunity to work in a fast moving IT environment where technology is used to drive submarine production. The scheme is focused on developing Graduates into professionals within the IMST business and will provide you with the opportunity to work across the lifecycle of Information Technology teamed with Submarine knowledge. You'll be given the opportunity to prove your ability to deliver to deadlines against specific targets, to work closely with a range of internal stakeholders, to build relationships, to build teams and to learn about our business.
Some of the potential placements will be:
- IT Service Delivery - Covering Software and Hardware procurement, IT Security, customer liaison and commercial outsourcing management.
- Project Management - Responsible for the delivery of all major projects and programmes of work in IMST.
- Project Management Office - Managing the operational control of projects through key performance indicators, providing control, process monitoring and reporting
- Design and Development - Responsible for the design and development of applications; writing the software code and configuring systems to ensure the solutions meet the business requirement.
- Business Analysis - Responsible for identifying business issues and establishing solutions.
- Information Management and Systems Architecture - Responsible for defining IT architecture and infrastructure policies to align IMST strategy to the BAE Submarine Solutions business strategy and drive the way forward with technology
- Governance - Responsible for governing the IMST department through internal process development, quality management, risk management and performance management; responsible for people: recruitment, training, skills management, career development and IMST internal and external communications
As an IMST Graduate your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
Degree qualified with a minimum 2:1 result in a relevant subject such as:
